Otto Bakker (1987) was born in Dordrecht.

He is one of the founding members of the Aristos quartet since 2008

He started his first cello lessons with Godelinde Doolaard and Ubaldo Arcari.
During his bachelor studies Otto had lessons with Floris Mijnders, Larissa Groeneveld and Marien van Staalen.

In 2012 Otto received his Bachelor diploma.

After that he studied in Amsterdam at the New String Quartet Master of the Conservatory of Amsterdam.
This study he succesfully completed with the Aristos Quartet.

After accomplishing his Master, Otto continued studying at the Dutch Stringquartet Academy (NSKA) for the post academic fulltime studies. He completed this study in 2017.

He has participated in different festivals like the Cello festival in Dordrecht and the Stift festival in Oldenzaal. Otto has attended masterclasses by Sebastian Klinger, Harro Ryusenaars and Gregor Horsch.

Since 2016, besides the quartet, Otto is also the cello section leader of the Kamerata Zuid String Orchestra.

He plays on a cello built by G.G. van Ziel in 2003. His bow is kindly granted from the NMF (dutch music instrument foundation) and was built in 1850 by Voirin in Paris.
